So life got in the way of a blog update. How did that happen?
Monday was a fantastic day. A day of organized work, of excitement in hitting deadlines. A great and fantastic workout with Trainer George. Upper body. Nice. I like to do the upper body work out because i like how my arms and back feel the next day or two.
Tuesday was just as busy at the office, if not more because of outside appointments. Two meetings during the day and one in the evening. AND the inauguration of our 44th president, Barack Obama. It was a very historical day. Quickly after work, I sped home, not really, picked up my girls and sped back into the gym. (again, not really.) I managed a 35 minute run on the treadmill at the gym while waiting for my husband to arrive. It was a good run, again, not meeting any land speed records for the amount that I ran, but I wasn't feeling 100% either. I left for an evening meeting, and met everyone at home.
Wednesday I was fortunate enough to go to the Leadership Somerset County class on Entrepreneurship. It was awesome, set in the Historic Somerset Trust building, we learned about a variety of different things including financing, starting your own business, buying a franchise and fire works. Yep, fireworks. Then I got to go to the dentist, back to the office and to another meeting.
Schedule schedule schedule. The meeting lasted till after dark, so therefore, I had to rush home and get my girls, who were begging me to watch John McCain plus 8, as they call John and Kate plus 8, the TLC program that I'm addicted to. (There ARE worse things. ) We built a puzzle of the 50 states and waited for my husband to arrive home.
I'm getting stressed writing about this. I mentioned I wasn't feeling well on Tuesday. It was worse on Wednesday and even worse on Thursday. I went to a second doctors appointment. Yep. Allergies again. Yay. I 'm not sure how allergies can worsen in this cold cold Somerset weather, but they do. I was full blown sick. I managed a meeting or two on Thursday and came home. I was sick. Bed. Itch. Itch.
So no work out on Wednesday or Thursday... would I manage one on Friday? Nope. I was happy to welcome two new people to my team at work, and then I was quickly on the way back down hill... ready for bed again. I hate being sick. This is the first time since I've started working out that I've been sick, and hopefully the last.
Saturday morning was a new day. I had been bummed because I had to cancel a fun trip to NYC with my girlfriends from college... Some of us graduated over 10 years ago, others more recently... so 15 or so of us were going to meet in New York City to shop, see a show and have dinner. My doctors suggested I just take it easy, take my anitbiotics and steroids and I had to cancel. I was bummed, but did manage to head to the gym to do a leg workout on Saturday morning It made me feel better that I was feeling better and actually able to do something.
Sunday was EVEN better! Although the workout was non-existent, my family and I headed to church and to Ligonier, to spend the morning shopping and looking at their ice sculptures. Shopping and spending time with the family, even though it wasn't in New York City with my friends was still fun, and maybe even more fun with my girls. They make me laugh. We even managed to stop and have some ice cream on a 13 degree day.
I'll get back on schedule. I have to. Even if it's a hectic one... it's mine. I need to remember to take time for ME and maybe just maybe stop for ice cream once in a while!
