Old people gone wild!!!

Especially old women! Outwardly I am shocked and yet to be honest I deep (well not too deep) down I was seriously cheering them on.

My first has to start with 85 year old Leda Smith. Who ever said old people need someone to protect them never met this dear lady. Smith is 85 years old and busted a would-be burglar inside her home, then forced him to call police while she kept him at gun point.

“I just walked right on past him to the bedroom and got my gun,” Leda Smith said.

Leda heard someone break into her home Sunday afternoon and quickly grabbed the .22-caliber revolver she keeps by her bed. She then confronted the intruder, demanding that he tell her why he was in her house. The guy was freaked by the gun and kept repeating “I didn’t do it!” Here comes the best part of the story. Smith then forced the boy, who was 17 years old, to call 9-1-1 for her and kept him at gun point until cops came about 45 minutes later.

I laughed out loud when I read this. Old people crack me up! This is like a scene right out of "Stop or my MOM will Shoot!". I can just picture this scared, unsure-of-himself, poor 17 year old boy stalking ol’ Leda Smith, figuring she would be easy to steal from. Next thing he knows the crazy geezer is wielding a gun in his face, calling him a hooligan… and making him call the cops on himself!

Now meet Mona Shaw, 75, of Bristow, Virginia.

A retired Air Force nurse and secretary of a square-dancing club, Shaw went Com-smash-tic in her local Comcast office one day last month.

As Neely Tucker of the Washington Post tells it, Shaw arranged with Comcast to have them install their “Triple Play” service- phone, cable and Internet.

Seems as though the Comcast installer failed to show up on the appointed day of Monday, August 13. Two days later, he shows up but only does part of the job. Yet rather than finish the work, Comcast cut off all service to the Shaw’s home.

So now we are at Friday, August 17. Shaw and her husband Don drop in at the local Comcast office in Manassas to complain.

They ask for a manager. They are told one will be right out. They wait two hours.

And after two hours, a customer service rep tells the waiting Shaws the manager has gone for the day.

Mona and Don stewed about it all weekend. Then Monday morning, she visits the Comcast office again. Only this time she brings Don’s clawhammer.

At this point, Mona proceeds to pick up the hammer and bash a customer service rep’s keyboard, bashes the monitor, wrecks the telephone. People scatter and scream, cops come, and Mona Shaw is breakin’ the law, breakin’ the law.

$345 fine, three-month suspended sentence, and a year-long restraining order keeping her away from the Comcast office.

Yea, as if.

Her phone service is now with Verizon.

Hahahaha!!!! Take that Comcast!!

Man I love these grannies.

  • It seems that things got straightened out. The other day I got a balance from Verizon $0.00

  • Verizon isn't much better. It took me two months to have my landline disconnected, and they're still sending me bills. And when I call them about it, I get an automated answering service that gives you a bunch of options that don't even apply. The last time I called, it took me 20 minutes to talk to a real person. Come on, what happened to service in customer service? I feel their pain.
