The Biggest Loser contest is over, phew... I made it to George’s goal weight. I didn’t have to do any running; I even had a few pounds to spare. I lost thirty pounds during the twelve weeks!!! I think that is fantabulos.
The contest was just the kick I needed to make changes on how I live. I decided when I started the contest that I need to change the way I eat, I’ve tried a lot of the diets and they work while I ‘m on them but as soon as I started eating regular food, back on the pounds go. So I started just eating healthy, Casio’s is my new favorite place to shop in town, it’s hard to go wrong when you stick to fruit and vegetables. The other thing I learned during the contest is portion control, you may not think you’re eating a lot, but when you start keeping a food journal you may be in for a big surprise. At first it is an adjustment to change how you’ve basically been eating for your entire life but in the long run it is so much better for your health.
More good news for me is I no longer need to take high blood pressure medication. That is a definite win in my book, and once again it’s due to a better, healthier life style change that includes exercising and eating better.
When the contest started Momma and I were leaving the gym one night and I yelled across the parking lot to her that I wanted to lose twenty five pounds and two dress sizes. There was a bird flying over us at that time and it sounded like he was laughing at me. Well I have news for that bird; I’m the one laughing now. So if you have been thinking that it is time to lose some weight and join a gym, I highly recommend that you come in and check out Precision Fitness, they have a wonderful staff, beautiful facility, I just can’t recommend them enough. Everyone makes you feel so welcome. If I can do it, so can you. Dust of your sneakers, pick up some fruit and get started on your way. I will see you there because I plan to continue on. George still has a plan for me, six more pounds by the end of May.
