JR Taylor Memorial Bridge 5K

I ran in the JR Taylor Memorial Bridge 5K on Sunday. It was a little chilly when we first got there but the sun came out right before it started. The course was relatively flat, which actually drives me crazy. I just get so bored with it when there are no hills. My GPS died on me right at the beginning so I ran this one "blind". They had someone at the mile markers reading off the times but I had my music on. At the mile marker, I heard the lady say "...34" and I wasn't sure if it was 8:34 or 7:34. That was tough for me - not knowing how I was doing.

I was pleasantly surprised when I got toward the finish and saw the clock just turning to 25:00. I sprinted in for a time of 25:07. I ended up placing second in my age, but no hardware yet because the awards had been shipped to him and only one of the 2 boxes had arrived. I was kind of upset about that because I love to wear my medal all day on race day. It will be sent to me soon though, so I guess it's okay.
