It's days like today that I remember something that is very important:
"So do not throw away your confidence, it will be richly rewarded." Hebrews 10:35. Yea, I quoted the Bible. It's my focus on the future verse that I keep very close to me at all times.
Focus on the future. Will the future bring me happiness and a fit and fabulous life? I hope so! My workout yesterday was with George Grove, at Precision Fitness. We did a little bit of everything because somehow this weekend we are running the Somerset Inc. sponsored 5K. Let's hope I don't freeze to death! But that is my focus for the week.
Maintain consistency and keep focused on the task at hand: Be a happy healthy mom, woman, employee... whetever my "role" is, it is important for me to focus on being the best me that I can be.
I'm confident in my abilities most of the time... but then other times, I just get a little flustered and have to look back at all of the things that I can do to make the situation better for me, my family, whomever might be involved.
I surround myself with positive phrases... a few bible verses are intermingled with just words "inspire, wish, believe" In my wallet, I have a phrase from a fortune cookie and a few notes from friends. I surround myself with positive words and make sure to do this when I'm working out too... I tried to keep on topic with George and to stay focused on my workout, but kept thinking of all the things that I had to do... and places I had to be.
A wise person told me today that maybe I just needed to stop and think and "be" sometimes. Alison was with me this morning and I was running late, we all were... the alarm clock didn't go off. Alison was chirping at me, Mommy Mommy Mommy. But I stopped myself from the hustle and the bustle of the late morning and just remembered that I would never get that moment back. So I listened to my little girl, and I stopped and actually just "was" in the moment with her. It was nice.
So for me whether I'm working out, working, or being a mom, I am constantly focused on the future, but I need to make sure to remember to just be a part of the moment sometimes. Just be.
